Am I really talking about Valentine’s Day already? Ugh – feels like we just put away our holiday décor. Oh wait, actually it’s because we just did. In fact, I still have some of it lingering on our fireplace mantle. Somehow I’ve convinced myself it’s not entirely holiday décor but rather winter décor and for that matter it will remain there and hangout with my minimalistic approach to Valentine’s Day décor.
Here’s three ways to add a little l’amour to your home without spending much time or money. But — if you follow me, you already know these two words are usually somehow included in my posts.
Frame The Bag
Have you walked into a Target with the idea of purchasing one item but find yourself being sucked into their dollar bin section, followed by their seasonal dinnerware which then leads to the kids clothing section and before you know it, you’re walking down every single aisle in the store with a shopping cart full of stuff you never even went in for? Yes, I think it’s safe to assume this has happened to many if not all.
Well, a couple weeks ago, I went to Target and spotted these adorable black and white gift bags with a gold leaf heart. I mean, come on! Our home décor is almost entirely black and white and this bag was surely screaming “take me home!” And, so, we did.
Mesmerized By The Dollar
Target does it again and again and again. I found these love themed scrapbook sheets (3 packs of 6. Total of 18 sheets) all for just $1! Along with the sheets, I also found these gold and red heart shaped doilies. I just paired them with the scrapbook sheets and framed them as well.
Last year, I made this banner using a paper mache love sign I found at Hobby Lobby and pink doilies from our local dollar store. Click here to find out how we created it. Notice the ‘winter ‘decor is still up? Wink, Wink.
Cheers to decorating for less! –Gladys
