It’s a tradition of ours to visit Disneyland during my dad’s birthday. This year was extra special as my little one is now two years old and very much obsessed with all things Disney. Ahem, she definitely takes after her mamá.

I wanted to share with you all a glimpse of our last week’s visit to the happiest place on Earth as there were a few new things we discovered that are well worth mentioning.

Also, if you haven’t already read my previous Disneyland post, be sure to check it out. Disneyland Tips & Tricks: First Timers With Toddlers, is filled with loads of recommendations and info to make your day that more pleasant with little ones.

Onto the good stuff. We made breakfast reservations for the Minnie and Friends Breakfast over at the Disneyland Plaza Inn prior to our visit. The Plaza Inn can be found on the corner of Main Street and Tomorrowland. It has a Victorian feel that features a delicious breakfast buffet. Breakfast is served daily from 8:40a – 11:00a. The cost per adult is $29.99 and $15 for children 3 and up. We were fortunate to have an annual pass which gave us an additional discount. One of the many perks of having an annual pass. Also, Mia, being 2 years old, was free and ate from a variety of dishes that were surprisingly egg-free. I spoke with one of the chefs to go over which dishes were completely egg-free and which dishes we needed to avoid completely. Let me just say, the chef was extremely caring and understanding. She even went out of her way to fix her a special plate in the back to ensure nothing would harm my princess. This mamá was beyond grateful and ecstatic to say the least.

While enjoying our delicious breakfast (Click here to see menu ), multiple characters stopped by to say hello, took pictures, danced and even hung out throughout the entire time we dined! Mia was so excited! I definitely recommend eating breakfast at the Plaza Inn. You’ll avoid making long lines to meet characters throughout the park. The best part of it all is that you get to have a one-on-one interaction with each character. But don’t take my word for it…

During our breakfast, Minnie came out to our section to sing happy birthday to a special little princess celebrating her 5th birthday. The Plaza Inn made a beautiful cake for all her friends and family. Birthday party at Disneyland?! Amazing – what a great idea! All you need to do is make breakfast reservations at the Plaza Inn for your entire group and order a cake in advance. Surely, I spoke with the chef about the cake as well. They acommadate for almost all food allergies! Mia can have a custom made egg-free Disney cake at Disneyland. Yes! They also make smash cakes (individual cakes) for just $16. We saw multiple characters including Captain Hook, Tigger, Winnie The Pooh and Minnie of coarse! But I will spare you the mother overload of pictures I took (ha! get it? Hence, the blog name).

Note: We’ve also dined at Ariel’s Grotto over at Disney California Adventure Park and had such an amazing time. It’s definitely worth every penny in my opinion as well. But more so if you have a princess or princesses with you. There, you’ll be able to enjoy a delicious meal as well and interact with almost all the Disney princesses. Score!

Character dining, is so much fun plus it will save you time with those princess/character meet and greet long lines. We were able to enjoy the rest of the day by watching shows and getting on more rides.

Note: Just be sure to make your dining reservations ahead of time. At times, they are completely booked days and even weeks in advance!

Additionally, this time around, we were able to enjoy an exclusive sneak peek at the Disney California Adventure Park for the movie “Maleficent,” which opens in theaters this week (May 30). Prior to entering the theater, we were quickly greeted and handed our 3D glasses along with these awesome Maleficent head gear. The sneak peek was shown in RealD 3D and let me just say, I’ll definitely be watching it!

The film stars Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning in the lead roles of Maleficent and Aurora, respectively. “The story focuses on the Sleeping Beauty story, but from the perspective of the villainous Maleficent.” –DisneyWiki

Cheers to family traditions at the happiest place on Earth!
